Mahler at Pacific

In their first concert of Spring 2016, Pacific?s University Symphony Orchestra will be performing Gustav Mahler?s Symphony No. 1 in D Minor. The concert serves as the culmination of the Mahler at Pacific Project, which puts selected high school musicians side-by-side with members of the Orchestra.. This time working together will give the younger musicians the chance for direct collaboration with college musicians of different educational paths. This includes individual mentoring and sectionals. About the Orchestra: The University Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Nicolas Waldvogel, is the major ensemble for Conservatory string-players and an audition-only group for wind, brass, and percussion students that is open to students of all majors. They perform a wide range of music from early orchestral works to contemporary pieces.
